The countdown is on until we reopen!
About the project
What has happened recently
We are reopening on 7th June! We are really excited to welcome visitors after so long and see people explore and enjoy our new displays and family activities. See our website for details of opening hours and ticket prices.
The new entrance on Riverside is complete. The ramp is finished, meaning there is now step-free access to the main site. The historic cobbles have been reinstated in the yard and new surfaces laid where there used to be mud.
It is beginning to look more like a museum! Most of our new text panels are in place, we have new signage, and our fantastic hands-on model of the Pumping Station (with a flushing toilet and sewage smells) is in and working!
Last week, we shared lots of secrets and stories on social medial for Museum Week. Follow us on Twitter @CamTechMuseum and like our page on Facebook /CambridgeMuseumofTechnology/ to see them and other news and stories.
Our partner, Othersyde, are providing the Museum cafe from the Engineer's House next door. The house is where the Pumping Station's engineer lived with his family, close enough to deal with any problems at the Pumping Station. The garden is now beautifully landscaped and inside the house provides a lovely historic setting.
