Facilities
The Museum offers indoor and outdoor spaces for children to eat lunch.
The Museum is easily accessible to coaches, has a drop-off point, and there is onsite parking space for up to 3 coaches.
There are a number of toilets, including accessible ones in the Pye Building.
Access
Most educational activities take place in the Museum’s modern Pye Building which has step-free access and an accessible toilet.
The entrance on Riverside offers step-free access to the Pumping Station. Some areas of the historic Pumping Station are narrow or have uneven ground, but we have installed threshold ramps at small steps and most areas of the Pumping Station are accessible to most wheelchair users. There is a rough track up to the Pye Building, which can be difficult for some wheelchair users. Alternatively, you can use the public footpath and re-enter the site through the staff entrance.
ENQUIRIES AND BOOKINGS
If you are interested in bringing your class to the Museum, please contact us by emailing schools@museumoftechnology.com.
Site risk assessment
We provide a general site and visit assessment. We recommend that a representative from the educational establishment also visits the site before the event to make their own risk assessment. This can take place during regular Museum opening hours or, by arrangement, at other times.
