Cambridge Museum of Technology is delighted to have partnered once again with the Royal Institution to bring the world famous CHRISTMAS LECTURES to Cambridge, via a livestream from the filming, in the heart of London.
Across three evenings in December, over 100 guests gathered in the Pye Building to be the first to find out ‘the truth about food’. Dr Chris van Tulleken delved deep into our guts – to reveal the revolutionary latest science around what happens inside our bodies when we eat. He investigated how food has fundamentally shaped human evolution, uncovered the importance of our microbiome – as the extra ‘organ’ we didn’t know we had – and asked how we can all eat better in future, for the sake of our own health and the health of the planet.
The lectures will be shown on BBC4 at 21.00 on 29, 30 and 31 December and will be available on iPlayer.
In addition to watching the lectures unfold in real time, visitors were able to participate in activities run by museum volunteers and even had the opportunity to recreate the poster photo!
