Join us on Saturday 5th October 2019 for our official reopening with guided tours, family activities, and more!
Cambridge Museum of Technology is the home of our industrial heritage. The Museum is proud to invite visitors of all ages to rediscover Cambridge’s most important industrial heritage site following a major redevelopment.
On Saturday 5th October, you can:
See our new displays on Cambridge’s forgotten industries (in the Top Bay), which will be open for the first time. See engines that have never been displayed before, some of which are push-button operated so you can see the technology in action.
Take a guided tour of the Pumping Station with a curator. The tours are at 11am and 3pm and there is no need to book - just turn up and gather outside the ticket office.
Take a guided tour of the Pye exhibition with a former employee. The tour starts at midday and there is no need to book - just turn up and gather inside the Pye Building.
Join our drop-in family activities. Be inspired by the Pumping Station and your visit to the Museum and working with a local artist, contribute to our large collage.
Explore our Print Room, which will be open from 2pm to 5pm. Have a look at the historic printing printing equipment and make your own print.
Do the brand new museum trail for children. Find the historic figures around the Museum and add the right hair or accessory to complete the pictures!
Enjoy food and drink at Othersyde in the Engineer’s House next door.
The full Museum, with its historic buildings, unique steam engines, and hands-on exhibits, will also be open for you to explore.
All activities are included in your ticket price.
