Oblique Arts presents ‘NOW’, a FREE Event funded by The Arts Council. This of the moment Multi Media Art ‘Happening’ will be held at the Museum of Technology in Cambridge
Ten contemporary local and International Artists
will exhibit work that represents the concept of life at the present time or moment; 'NOW' is curated by Jamie Ashman. As Janis Joplin once said "tomorrow never happens".
There will be a screening of a short film by Pakana Curtis showcasing the diverse range of work by the artists involved; Jamie Ashman, Dr. Beverley Carpenter, Susan Diamond, David Kefford, Jeffrey Knopf, Eunice Tsai Marquardt, Loukas Morley, Alan Rogerson, Penny Sobr and Karen Thomas.
A musical soundtrack will be provided DJ duo Short and Sweet and there will be a live performance by the 'The Sound of Pop Art'. A Drag king and compere will talk you through this ‘tongue in cheek’ show about the Art World NOW.
Live performances also include a roller skating model representing the Museums of the World and an Artist Angel. The evening promises both 21st Century art and spectacle. Printed banners in the form of giant prayer flags will be hung in the museum courtyard alongside projected, psychedelic, animated films by Karen Eng.
'NOW' promises a different experience, giving a new perspective on the art scene.
Refreshments will be available by donation. Think NOW, now is here.
