Join us for a family-friendly Victorian Christmas day with craft activities, music, mince pies, and much more!

Many of our Christmas traditions date back to Victorian times and our Victorian Pumping Station will be filled with festive fun.

On Sunday 15th December, you can:

  • Make your own Victorian Christmas card with exciting pop-up elements and moving parts (drop-in, all day)

  • Do the Christmas-themed museum trail to find all the lost presents hidden around the Museum and stop the naughty elf from hiding more! (all day)

  • Help us decorate our Christmas tree after you make a Victorian decoration (drop-in, all day)

  • Listen to the Museum’s house band the Steam Powered Rats play some festive and folky tunes (1pm to 4pm)

  • Enjoy mulled wine and mince pies in the Victorian buildings (all day)

  • Explore our Print Room and do your own Christmas print (2pm to 4pm)

  • Make your own Victorian Christmas cracker (drop-in, all day)

The full Museum, with its historic buildings, unique steam engines, and hands-on exhibits, will also be open for you to explore.

All activities are included in your ticket price (event day pricing will be in effect).
