Fire Pump from Foster's Mill
Fire Pump from Foster's Mill
£50.00
One adopted by Mike B
Quantity:
This fire pump was made by Mather & Platt of Manchester and used at Foster's Mill in Cambridge in the early 20th century. The Foster family were bankers, merchants, and millers. This unit is a steam engine attached to a water pump, which drew water from an underground tank and fed it to the fire fighting equipment at the flour mill.
The fire pump needs conservation work before the Museum re-opens.
