On 10 November 2022, True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum in Kings Lynn welcomed John Little, Chair of the Trustees of Cambridge Museum of Technology, to give the eighth annual Pat Midgley Memorial Lecture, which commemorates True's Yard Fisherfolk Museum's founder.
John presented “Sewage, Steam and Scientific Instruments – but what about the people?”, celebrating the lives of workers at industries that are exhibited at Cambridge Museum of Technology, such as the Cheddars Lane sewage-pumping station, Cambridge University & Town Gas-Light Company, Cambridge Instrument Company, and Pye.
John presented photographs and videos from Cambridgeshire Collection, Cambridge Archives and Cambridge Museum of Technology, documenting both Cambridge at work and at leisure through numerous social clubs, plus contemporary views of the former industrial quarter that surrounds the Museum of Technology on Riverside.
